This is the first part of The Making of samisdat 2.0.
Actually it is part zero, because i start really nearly with zero and install a local apacheserver with MySQL and PHP.

For a lack of time, i didn’t finished my Wuppertal Panorama for the cssreboot. But after two weeks of stood still in Wuppertal, i bring it back to live. I create eight different weather conditions. Just hit the all-seeing eye and play a little god with Wuppertal.
The panorama is loaded by AJAX. Without Javascript you get only the static one.
Now i just have to smooth the rain animation, animate sun and moon and connect the panorama to a weather-feed.

This could become very useful: eyeOS.
I work at several computers and i have to save and carry my data on an USB stick. If you know the funny things different word-versions can do with a single .doc, you know how i love M$.
Webbased services are an alternative. I manage my emails with gmail and i use writely more and more.
But why should i use different services (gmail for mails, del.icio to bookmarking and writely to write), if i can have all that at my own server.
At the moment the functionality of eyeOS is to limited to do real work with it. But i has high potential for the future.

I had no negative feedback so far, except some eMails about broken download-links which i will fix in the next days.
The only thing that is annoying me is: I haven’t vote for myself.
I tried this morning and just a minute ago, but the only thing i see, is thar animated busy.gif and the message Sending.
But i don’t care about that, particularly since i recognized that samisdat.org is on the very first site at cssreboot.

A really good one of the large number of beta-servicex is browsershots.
Input URL and after about a hour the site deliveres screenshots made with different browsers and systems.
Yesterday I browsershot samisdat.org. You can see the results here.
It’s seems like that samisat.org is rendered quite well in all browsers supported by browsershot.
